Ron Dellums visits Prescott-Joseph Center for Community Enhancement

Mr. and Mrs. Ron Dellums, along with a small entourage visited PJCCE during the week of Mayor Dellum’s Art Tours of Oakland.

There were approximately 20-25 artists here to talk about the art needs of the community.
Mr. Dellums met many of them and they talked about things that were needed, especially in the schools.

Mr. Dellums attended St. Patrick’s school, across the street from Prescott-Joseph Center, and had fond memories of working here in the yard when this building was a convent. He was curious about the building as he had never been past the double doors. Mr. Dellums took a tour of Prescott-Joseph Center for Community Enhancement and talked about the programs, particularly the West Oakland oral history project, the senior teas, and will be invited to the next senior teas.

Mr. Dellums was very gracious and warm. We hope to see him at Prescott-Joseph again soon!
