Prescott-Joseph Center for Community Enhancement

The San Francisco Foundation Arts Grant

sf_foundation.jpg
The Prescott-Joseph Center is the proud recipient of one of the San Francisco Foundation’s Art grants for 2005-2006. The $2000 grant supported our annual Winter Art Show, which featured local artists who have previously donated their artwork for the good of Bay Area communities. Among those artists is Gennesse McGaugh, who demonstrated her creativity and skill through three linocuts she submitted for the show. The Prescott-Joseph Center recognized Gennesse’s resiliency, due to the fact that she is declared legally blind, and will feature her in a “One-Woman” show in March. The Prescott-Joseph Center would like to express our gratitute to the San Francisco Foundation for partially funding the Winter Art Show as well as for their continued support.
We would also like to congratulate the other recipients of the San Francisco Foundation Art Grant:
Museum of Children’s Art—-$12,000
Dimensions Dance Theater—-$10,000
African and African-American Performing Arts Coalition—-$7,500
Oakland Opera Theater—-$7,500
Oakland Youth Chorus—-$2,000
Oakland Youth Orchestra—-$$2,000

Special Thanks to the Oakland Post who featured us among many others on the cover of their January 4th edition as recipients of the San Francisco Foundation Grant for the Arts.
