The Ujima award was presented to our Executive Director, Washington Burns, M.D., by St. Columba Church, February 19, 2006 at the 10:30 mass. This is a community service award named after one of the 10 Kwanzaa principles. They apparently have given it for several years. It is well known in the African American community.

THE AWARD IS MADE FOR FOLLOWING THESE PRINCIPLES: Building our community together; Making others’ problems our own; solving them together.
